45-year-old Jaymini was gaining weight, and fast.
Her favourite dresses and jeans didn’t fit her waist anymore – a reminder she got every morning when she flicked through her wardrobe.

Here, Jaymini speaks about how her whole family are benefitting from her transformation, how her trainer worked around her vegetarian diet, and why she can now look in the mirror in confidence.
What motivated you to start a personal training program with U.P.?
I decided to join U.P. because I realised that I was gaining weight. I haven’t really looked after myself over the years, given the fact I had children.
As time went by, my clothes weren’t fitting, and I didn’t feel good about myself. I thought now was the perfect time to get in touch with U.P. and do something about it.
What did your diet look like before you began working with your trainer?
I thought it was pretty normal, but I didn’t realise how unhealthy it was until I joined U.P. Being vegetarian, my diet consisted of a lot of vegetables.
When I joined U.P., I found the transition to a new diet quite difficult as it was new to me, but my trainer helped me through that.
He sent me a lot of recipes that I could use and put my own twist on. It helped me a lot because I was eating foods I liked and felt happy about it.
How was your figure affecting your confidence before you started personal training?
Before I started training, I wasn’t feeling very confident with my shape and figure. Especially when I was going through my wardrobe and not finding any clothes that fit me.
I didn’t feel comfortable at all. I had excess fat and was putting on a lot of weight during this time. I just wasn’t happy with myself or the way I looked.
How happy are you with the changes that you’ve seen in your body?
I am so much more confident in myself now, and I also feel fitter and generally happier. When I started training at U.P. I wanted to lose fat from my stomach so I’d fit into dresses, skirts and jeans.
But I realised that my transformation has helped me lose fat across my whole body, which looks great. It’s made such a difference to my life now that my figure has changed.
I can’t tell you how much happier I am when I look in the mirror. I’ve got so much more energy and feel much more focused too.
How important was your trainer in helping you see such incredible results?
There’s no way I could have done this without U.P. My trainer has given me so much encouragement, he’s been a superstar throughout this whole process!
I thought I was going to have a personal trainer, he’d tell me what to do in the gym, then I’d leave – and it wouldn’t go beyond that. But even after hours I could contact my trainer and he’d get back to me and give me advice.
I spoke to him about calories and recipes, and would check in with him just to make sure I was on track. He’s been brilliant, I couldn’t have done it without him.
Finally, what are the most powerful lessons you’ve learnt training at U.P.?
I’ve learnt that training and eating well can transform your whole life. I’ve never exercised before, but it’s made a huge difference to me and my self-confidence.
I’ve now embedded a lot more nutritional foods into my diet, and me and my family have an exercise regime in place. I’d also like to mention that I was apprehensive about weight training.
So, for other women nervous about lifting weights, I’ve been there myself. But I feel better now I’ve taken weight training up. If I can do, so can you.
