Here, she talks about how U.P. went above and beyond to help her lose weight, and how the accountability of her plan brought the very best out of Heather.
What motivated you to start at U.P.?
I had been feeling out of shape for a while, and then with COVID I had gained extra weight and just didn’t feel good about myself. My brother started at U.P. in Singapore and said it really worked, and that I had to try it.
How would you compare yourself from day one to now?
Drastically different. It’s like night and day. Day one, I was the heaviest I’d ever been in my life, the least in-shape I’ve ever been. I didn’t feel good about myself and I found the pictures awful. I also couldn’t do the exercises or anything in the gym.
Since joining U.P., every day I’m running further and feeling better about myself. I have more energy and I put on my work clothes the other day and realised that I look good. I also can just do normal things. I’m helping my mum with 50lbs of dog food, carrying it around no problem, little things like that. It’s like every part of your life is better.
How has training and diet improved your life outside the gym?
My life has improved in a lot of ways. I feel much more confident at work and I can fit into all my clothes again, which is the key to feeling good. I’ve been wanting to date for a while, but I felt really uncomfortable getting ready and going out.
Now, I feel great and I’ve started dating. So far it is working out well. It’s been good all-around and training also just gives me something to look forward to and makes me feel energetic throughout the week.
How were your previous lifestyle habits making you feel?
I wasn’t feeling good about myself and I felt like I was overweight. I wasn’t feeling confident and it was holding me back from doing things I wanted to do. Everything seemed to cycle on top of each other, and I didn’t have a plan for myself to change it.
That’s why this helped so much. I would always think ‘I can’t run that much, I’m not going to worry about it.’ So, my habits just kept getting worse and worse, so I really needed a big change which helped here.
What would you say to people who say the results aren’t possible?
I would say they’re wrong because it completely worked for me, and I had half tried all sorts of other things. I have the U.P. app so I can show people pictures! Everyone noticed my transformation when they saw me.
If you follow the plan, it works. U.P. gives you an overall better mindset and helps to change your lifestyle. You can still enjoy life and still get these results. If I can do it, anyone can do it.
