Joan lived a life of stress, work and poor sleep that was taking a toll.
Somewhere along his career path working in the pharmaceutical industry, he had lost sight of his health.
He knew there must be a better way – a way that put his health, fitness and wellbeing first.
Now a father of a young daughter, 37-year-old Joan knew he needed to find this path to lifelong health.

But all this changed when he started his transformation with U.P.

“When I started at U.P., I didn’t have a lot of concerns, but there were definitely times when I was like ‘no way, I can’t do this workout’ or ‘I can’t achieve this goal’.
“But since U.P. was a personal project, I had to step out of my comfort zone, which was a challenge, but thanks to my trainer, I eventually accomplished it.
“My transformation journey at U.P. was like a path which had rocks and milestones, and I kept walking on it with the support of my trainer. I have also learnt how to better manage my stress, how to step out of my comfort zone, and how to lead a happy and healthy life.”

He has found value in things he didn’t notice before and follows a go-getter approach everywhere he goes.

“Now that I feel better mentally, I call my family more often and share all sorts of details about my workout and my day.

Through strength training and pushing himself past his self-imposed limits in the gym, Joan has truly discovered a reservoir of mental toughness and a never-say-die attitude that can overcome any challenge in life.
